All The Same To God

The thing that stood out to me about these short poems is how they seem to have a message within them. This message, at least in my opinion, is that, to God, we are all his children. It doesn't matter id you are black or white, a chimney sweep or a king, all of us are his children. I think that is a beautiful message, and is rather humbling. When it comes down to it, we are all the same, no matter how much people try and label others as different or bad, we are all His children, and made in his image.

I commented on Jeremy Bearman's post.

  1. The common idea in Blake's poetry discusses our relationship with God our Creator. In each poem, Blake tries to go at the idea with a new speaker, and therefore viewpoint. Several speakers ultimately reach the conclusion that we are indeed God's children.

  2. More than just men and women, Blake tends to bring up the idea that all animals are created by God as well. He refers to them as less knowledgeable beings, but on the same level as man.

  3. Honestly, if people decided to think like this more, that we are all the same essentially: made of the same materials and ingredients that make us who we are, then the world would be a much better place.
